Brandon grew up in DeForest, WI, just outside of Madison. He studied Chemical Engineering at the University of Wisconsin - Madison. Following graduation, Brandon moved to Chicago for his first job out of school.

Katie was born and raised in Houston, TX. She went to Texas A&M University (whoop!), where she studied Agricultural Economics and Financial Management. In the summer of 2017, Katie moved to Chicago for her first job out of school and quickly fell in love with the city!

Brandon and Katie met like standard millennials - on the internet - in the fall of 2018. Brandon was working an assignment in Oklahoma and Katie was vacationing in Colorado - so they owe it all to Hinge's algorithm for bringing them together!

When they were both back in Chicago a few weeks later they had their first date at Lonesome Rose. They bonded over their love of travel, dogs, hiking, and how neither had much time outside of work...it was perfect!

Following a few years together in Chicago, they decided to ditch the Midwest winters and move to Northern California in the summer of 2020. They expanded to a family of 3 when they found Twix a few months later. Brandon and Katie spent the next 2.5 years meeting amazing friends, traveling, and building a life together in California.

Brandon proposed while on a hike in Walnut Creek, CA with the help of Twix on February 25, 2023! Max soon joined in on the fun when he was adopted in April.
